Catherine Hung received her undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1991. After practicing for several years in Hong Kong, she came to the United States and obtained her physical therapy licenses in California, New York, New Jersey and Indiana. She continued to practice full time while studying part time to advance her professional and academic career. She was certified as a manual therapist at the University of St. Augustine in 1998. She aggressively pursued her education and credentials and earned a Master degree in Physical therapy in 2001, as well as a Pilates Rehab Practitioner certification through Polestar Education in 2003. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy through the University of St. Augustine in 2010. She was also a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist.

With more than 20 years of extensive experience, she has practiced in various institutions and facilities overseas, and since 1997 in the United States. She honed her craft by attending various continuing education courses and from collaborating with fellow clinicians over the years. As a certified Manual Therapist, her philosophy focuses on treating the source of the dysfunction based on the biomechanics and functional musculoskeletal anatomy. She is dedicated in providing the highest quality of care to her patients through comprehensive examination, biomechanical analysis of the human body, manual therapy and integrated exercise approach. She specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on rehabilitation for back injuries by incorporating manual therapy and Pilates exercises. Utilizing an integrative and holistic approach, she focuses on devising an individualized care and achieving balance in the whole body system.

She participated in sports at young age such as archery, squash, badminton and horseback riding. Having scoliosis, osteoporosis, and various injuries over the years, give her an appreciation of physical therapy from the patient’s perspective and enhanced her effectiveness as a therapist.

She joined the Performing Arts of Physical Therapy in New York as a per diem physical therapist for Broadway dancers and actors on-site in the theaters. It’s a very exciting and challenging role to correct various dysfunctions of the performers in a short period of time so that they can continue to excel in their performances.
